The mission of Wilson SDA Junior Academy (WJA) is to motivate students to develop a personal relationship with Jesus. It is WJA's desire that students and faculty will follow God's leading in being an inspiration to their families, churches, and communities. In addition to achieving academic excellence, the graduates will become compassionate leaders and willing servants, equipped and confident to share God's offer of salvation in these last moments of earth's history.
The educational philosophy of Wilson Junior Academy is founded on the philosophy of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, including ideas in regard to the origin, nature, and destiny of man. We believe that God created this world in a literal seven days and then, on the seventh day, He rested. We believe that man, the crowning act of creation, was made in the image of God. Man was to develop his powers so as to reveal and reflect the glory of his Creator, but through sin, man's physical powers have been weakened, hil mental capacities lessened, and his spiritual wisdom dimmed.
It is our belief that the primary objectives of education and life are to restore the image of God through man and to bring him back to the perfection in which he was created. We believe that all youth should be permitted the privilege of a Christian education that they may become laborers together with God. Our conviction is that true education must provide for intellectual, spiritual, emotional, and physical development and especially a personal relationship with, and a commitment to, Christ.
Our aim as a Christian educational institution is to provide a course of study suitable for a variety of students, which will speak to the whole person, enabling them to fulfill their individual potential. We wish to provide training which will fit them for a technological society, and to inculcate principles which will enable them to be good citizens of both this world and the next.
